After operating The Singing Lady in the dark for the past three months with our entire staff laid off, we are happy to announce that we are now open and our newsletter is up and running again. We've had some major setbacks over the past month and we needed time before we could welcome you back into our stores.
This newsletter is long in words but everything needs to be said.
We have deep cleaned both the Annex and the Flagship with the help of family and friends. We have protocols in place to keep you safe and when you visit us we just ask that you please abide by the social distancing rules and wear a mask when you enter the store.
Our hours moving forward have changed and our staff has been significantly reduced so we are asking for your patience with just about everything.
Our new hours are listed on our website but here they are so we're sure you are aware.
Monday to Thursday - 12pm to 4pm
Friday and Saturday - 11am to 4pm
Sunday 12pm to 4pm
We are so very thankful to all of our customers who supported us through these past months - making purchases and repeat purchases all along the way. It was with great happiness that I got to speak to so many of you over the phone and you brightened my days immensely. You kept me company, you made me laugh and you shared stories. I wrapped your purchases with tender loving care and was grateful for each and every item you acquired along the way.
In late April, my husband Stef and partner in making dreams come true, became suddenly so very ill. He battled double lung pneumonia in critical care, along with many other complications for 30 days. The night before he was supposed to turn a corner and make a significant step in the right direction he went into cardiac arrest and the hospital staff did everything they could but he just couldn't battle on any longer. He left our home on April 22nd and the only time I saw him was on the morning of May 22nd after he had passed away.
Stef played an integral role as my partner in the Singing Lady. He took care of all the back end operations. Our website, our technical implementations, IT support for our consignors, accounting, social media, your weekly newsletter and so much more. The loss has been devastating for myself, our family and all of us here at the store. He was a brilliant man, a kind man, with a generous heart.
I cannot even begin to explain how grateful I am for your thoughtful words, your emails, your prayers, your beautiful cards, the flowers and the love you have shown to me over the past few weeks as we've been dealing with so much. My heart is full. I am so very appreciative to our fellow consignment stores, Around the Block and Of Things Past for sending along their condolences and prayers. How very lovely is that?
In honour of Stef, we will continue on as I know this is what he would want me to do.
We're working this out day by day and with so many things still in flux we know you will be here to help lift us up and keep encouraging us to brave on. You've already done so much.
With love,
Tammie & The Singing Lady Team
